The founding cuvée of the house, from old Carinyena on warm, south-facing slate above Torroja, made the way Dominik Huber settled on after years of subtraction: whole clusters laid into concrete for seven to eight days, no punch-downs, no pumping over, eight months in concrete, bottled unfined and unfiltered. In torrid, drought-struck 2023 the estate picked earlier than ever, and Gutiérrez found a wine surprisingly floral and silky where it is usually earthy — contained ripeness at 13.5 degrees, harmonious, with no sensation of heat. 3,200 bottles, filled in May 2024.
Cellaring perspective
Dits is the darkest and ripest of the house reds — always slightly rustic, in the critic's affectionate phrasing — and the all-concrete era has made it fresher in youth. Drinkable early for the floral charm; better from its fifth year, when the slate starts speaking over the fruit.
