Cuvée Dame Hertz, Vin de France
A white from the Japanese vigneron in France — one of 1321 bottles. Lemon-yellow. Citrus, stone fruit, petrol. Then texture: cream, line, and acidity moving from the back of the mouth to the front. Some wines are lived, not reviewed.
Barolo, Vignarionda Riserva
Nebbiolo from one of Barolo's historic crus, ten years on. Brick at the rim; ripe black fruit first, then the bottle age came through — leather, tobacco and rose. Medium acidity, very fine polished tannin. Ready to drink, but not finished.

Taurasi Riserva, Della Società
Aglianico from Avellino, opened young. Ripe black fruit, warm-climate in feel but not cooked. The tannin was already polished, though the wine still felt early. The fruit stayed present and persistent. I would wait; there are many years left here.
30.000 Maravedíes, Garnacha Tinta
Garnacha from the granite of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. Red fruit was very present, with leather and a damp-floor note from bottle age. Marked acidity, soft tannin, a Burgundian line. Still with room to evolve. Surprising, enjoyable, very Gredos.
Bourgogne Blanc, Morey-Saint-Denis
Chardonnay from the Kuheiji estate at Morey-Saint-Denis. Citrus peel — lemon and grapefruit — with a little green apple. Aromatic, carried by tense acidity. That was the part that stayed with us. It can hold for another few years.
Fiano di Avellino, Vigna Campo Aperto Riserva
A white with structure — Fiano given Riserva time. Aromatic, with stone fruit, salt and a little almond underneath. Long, persistent finish. Ready to drink now, though it can wait a couple of years.
