Le Limozin lies south of Meursault, mid-slope and well exposed, sitting directly beneath the premiers crus of that sector — the kind of village parcel whose only difference from its neighbours is a line on a map drawn a century ago. Guy Bocard's vines here are old. The domaine makes eight cuvées and treats them all identically in the cellar, precisely so that a comparison between Limozin and the parcels above and below it means something.
Cellaring perspective
Under Philippe Pacalet's guidance the domaine presses whole bunches slowly, ferments on indigenous yeasts, uses little bâtonnage and very little sulphur, and works a varied park of barrels that stay in service beyond ten vintages. Mid-slope Meursault gives the riper, rounder fruit; made with this restraint it keeps the tension that the exposure would otherwise soften.
