Why this bottle matters
In 2014 Jean-Baptiste Boudier worked the harvest alongside his father and it became clear their ideas about winemaking had diverged. They agreed he should go his own way: in 2015 he took three hectares of the family's seven and bottled his first vintage under his own name. When his father retired in 2017 he kept only the parcels he wanted. Les Renardes came later — half a hectare of Corton Grand Cru recovered in 2021, on the hill his family has farmed for five generations.
Cellaring perspective
This is a young domaine on old ground, and the scale is the point: the largest cuvée here runs to five barrels. Vinification is deliberately plain — concrete and steel, indigenous yeasts, reds mostly destemmed, gentle extraction and sulphur kept very low. Corton is the Côte de Beaune's only red Grand Cru of size and its wines are built to be waited for.
