Why this bottle matters

Romanée-Saint-Vivant is the summit of this record: a grand cru the family's parcel shares with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Leroy and Dujac, from vines that count among the estate's oldest. Under Charles Lachaux the domaine became one of Burgundy's most closely followed, and this is the wine where his question is asked of the grandest ground — canopies braided instead of trimmed, whole clusters, infusion, an élevage without oak from 2022. The same hillside as its neighbours; a different voice.

Cellaring perspective

Grand cru Vosne from the small, frost-marked 2021 harvest, built on perfume and line rather than mass. Fifteen to twenty-five quiet years are available to it, and scarcity was structural before the vintage made it absolute. This is a bottle whose custody record will matter as much as its cork.

Why this Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru 2021 matters

Arnoux-Lachaux has become one of the clearest cases in Burgundy of demand outrunning documentation: production is small, allocations are guarded, and prices rose so quickly that bottles with reconstructable custody became scarcer than the wine itself. In this market, an Arnoux-Lachaux without paper is precisely the bottle to treat with caution. This one is recorded — professional storage from acquisition onwards, chain of custody intact — which, for this producer, is now the genuinely rare attribute.

About this bottle

Is this Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux 2021 authentic and how is its provenance documented?

This Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru 2021 0.75L is held in professional bonded storage with documented custody. Its provenance is unbroken from release: the bottle has remained in professional custody, and condition is recorded. The Empty Drops is a private cellar, not a reseller, and never invents data about a bottle.

How is the bottle stored and shipped?

The bottle is kept in temperature-controlled bonded storage and is not moved unless shipping is requested. It is held privately and not currently offered for release.

What does the fill level and condition tell you about this bottle?

Condition is read from the fill level (ullage), capsule and label rather than taken on faith. A bottle that has not left professional custody since release avoids the usual weak points — heat, movement and broken records.

Where can I buy Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru 2021 0.75L?
