Why this bottle matters
A regional Bourgogne from a house that started with two thousand bottles in a garage. Camille Thiriet and Matt Chittick made their first vintage in 2016 in a small garage at Comblanchien, with no running water and no electricity, using fruit from growers they had come to know while working for Nicolas Potel. In 2022 they bought a domaine at Corgoloin and became growers themselves — while still buying from the network that got them started.
Cellaring perspective
The method does not change with the appellation on the label: whole bunches where the fruit allows, indigenous yeasts, no additives, mainly basket pressing, and hand labelling and waxing. What a house does with its least prestigious wine is the honest test of it. This is a bottle to drink over the next few years rather than to keep, and a fair way to read the pair before paying for their village wines.
