Jean-Yves Bizot farms barely three hectares in Vosne-Romanée and makes some of the most sought and least seen wines in Burgundy. His method is famously extreme in its restraint: whole clusters, no new oak, almost no sulphur, no fining, no filtration. He does not chase extraction; he lets the vintage speak, and the results have a transparency that has made him a reference for a whole generation of vignerons. Corton Clos du Roi is the historic heart of the Corton hill, the parcel that once belonged to the king.
