Domaine Arlaud was the first estate in Morey-Saint-Denis to earn biodynamic certification, in 2014, and every premier and grand cru parcel is still ploughed by horse — Cyprien Arlaud's sister Bertille works them with her own animals. Les Millandes sits on the mid-slope directly below Clos de la Roche, where the family farms just under half a hectare. The 2022 was vinified with a third whole bunches, raised mostly in used casks and bottled unfined and unfiltered; Decanter rated it 95 points, Burghound 93, both counselling patience.
Cellaring perspective
2022 gave the Côte de Nuits ripeness with unexpected freshness, and this wine carries the structure of the year: published drinking windows open in the late 2020s, and Decanter's runs to 2055. Morey stands between the muscle of Gevrey and the perfume of Chambolle, and Millandes catches both — a bottle to forget for five years and follow for twenty more.
