Beaux Frères takes its name literally: brothers-in-law Michael Etzel and Robert Parker bought a foreclosed pig farm on Ribbon Ridge in 1986 and planted it to Pinot Noir — and Parker, then the world's most influential critic, never once reviewed the wine in his own journal. Since 2022 the estate has belonged to Artémis Domaines, the Pinault family group behind Château Latour and Clos de Tart, with the founder's son Mike D. Etzel in charge. The 2022 tells its own story: spring frost hit the biodynamically farmed home vineyard hard, so this Willamette Valley cuvée drew on eight sites across four sub-appellations — and still earned 94 points from Decanter, Suckling and Wine Spectator alike.

A frost year gave 2022 a fresher, red-fruited profile, and the critics' windows converge around 2032–2034 — a decade of graceful drinking rather than an epic arc. Oregon Pinot ages better than its reputation suggests: fruit recedes, forest floor and spice come forward, and well-stored bottles from this estate reliably repay the wait.
